QuickiDrive FAQ's

Q: When Having Problems with your Mac and any of the USB mass storage Device's?

A: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60394 is the link to the Mac update for USB extensions

If upgraded from OS 8.6 to 9.2. When you did that one extension was not shut off (this always happens). Go to control panel/extensions manager. Look for USB mass storage under extensions. unclick it to shut it off. Restart and everything is fine.

Q: My Quicki Drive will not Show in "My Computer" and I'm on a network with mapped network drives or have a printer with a built in card reader?

A: Follow the Below to resolve this Problem.

Start, Settings, Control Panel

In control panel select Administrative Tools, then Computer Management

Under Storage (located in the left window) double-click Disk Management

In the Disk Management window you should see all of the drives mapped on your computer including the QuickiDrive the icon should look like a floppy disk drive … it will also show that it has a FAT filing system and the capacity will be 64mb.

Right Click on the drive and select change drive letter / path.

Click the “change” button, and in the dialog box type in any letter that is not currently being used.

Save all changes and exit the program. This should allow the computer to see the drive. If you cannot access these settings contact your system administrator.

Q: When Plugged in to a USB hub it will not work, but when plugged in to the CPU it does?

A: The USB hub must be a self powered hub in order for the QuickiDrives to work.

Q: When Plugged in to the Front USB port Drive will not work?

A: Some Front USB ports are not powered so the quickidrive will not work while a camera, printer or scanner will because they are all self  powered.

Q: I have windows 98 not 98SE can I still use the quickidrive?

A: Sorry the Drive will not work with Windows 98, or 95 as well as windows NT4 workstation or server.

Q: I delete my partition can I recover the data from the drive?

A: Just FYI: deleting the partition will not erase the data, only the file headers. There is a freeware utility that helps recover 100% most of the time data perfectly (PC Inspector File recovery System from http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/welcome.htm).
